The DigiPorFlow group recently attended the Nuclear Waste Services Research Support Office (NWS RSO) Annual Conference held from January 14th to 16th, 2025, in Bristol. The event took place at The M Shed, providing a picturesque venue for engaging with experts and peers in the field of radioactive waste disposal. Dr Jacqueline Misfud had the opportunity to present a poster on GeoChemFoam as part of the GeoSafe project, which facilitated valuable discussions and feedback from other attendees. The conference covered a wide range of topics, including advancements in radiochemistry, geoscience, and environmental science, highlighting the ongoing research and collaborative efforts within the industry.
In addition to the informative sessions, the conference offered practical networking opportunities during the evening dinner and reception at the Bristol Museum & Art Gallery. These events allowed us to connect with industry leaders and fellow researchers in a more relaxed setting. Overall, the NWS RSO Annual Conference was a productive experience, enhancing our understanding of current challenges and developments in radioactive waste disposal and fostering meaningful professional relationships.
